Variety: Mouvedre

Mourvedre is a Spanish variety, also called “Mataro” or “Monastrell”, which is also used in the Southern Rhone Valley in France, especially for blends of red wines. It is also becoming more popular in Australia nowadays. The wines made with Mourvedre are usually earthy and rustic, high in alcohol, with soft red fruit flavors. It is very often use to make full-bodied and deep wines.
